We are 100 Years Old

King Offa School celebrated it's centenary on March 7th 2007. The children dressed in Edwardian costume for the day; we held a special celebration assembly with invited guests who then toured the school and our Centenary displays. In the afternoon a "tea party" was held for the children, with a table running the entire length of both halls, plus tables on either side of the halls. We had a birthday cake with 100 candles on and after tea we released 100 balloons kindly supplied by the Bexhill Observer.
On Saturday 10th March we held an "Open Day" at the school for ex-pupils and other interested visitors. The day was a great success, our exhibition of old photos, Log Books and Admission Registers proved very popular, ex-pupils were able to share their memories with us and several re-unions were made.
We are still looking for old photographs and memories of the school, if you have any that you can share with us please contact the school on 01424 211548 or by e-mail king(at)kingoffa(dot)e-sussex(dot)sch(dot)uk

The architects drawing of how the new school would look.

The original school building before the KS1 classrooms and hall where built.

This picture was taken in 1926, in what is now Mrs Holden's classroom. The children are about 10 years old. The grandson of the boy on the left, back row, is in our current Year 6.
